My Diet and Exercise Plans

I haven’t figure out how to display the diet I’m on yet, so….

My diet is sort of a cross between a 1500 calorie diabetic diet and a calorie controlled diet.  Sometimes I follow the 1500 calorie diet and sometimes I just count my calories.  The reason being is there is some things on the calorie control diet that’s not on the 1500 diet…for instance:  Hot dogs are  not on the 1500 diet but I love them babies…lol.  I have found some put out by Oscar Meyer that only has 40 calories per link…and I use Nature’s Own Sourdough bread (40 calories per slice) as my bun.  I might have my hot dogs once or twice a week…either way I go, I try to stay under 1500 calories.

This exercises that I do  (which I different ones at different times)  are:  Sweatin’ to the Oldies by Richard Simmons…I like the music and I can do almost the whole video now.  Usually if I go walking (which is usually around the block and it’s almost a mile), I do it first thing in the morning.  Then there’s Tae-Bo, but I haven’t really gotten the hang of it yet…lol.   And last but not least…there’s my yard and woodwork which has me constantly going…to and fro, up and down, bending, stretching, lots of walking…so all in all I think I’m doing pretty good on my exercising.

One thing I’m planning on doing is start going to the “Y” and learn how to swim…I’m gonna look so good in a swim suit next year….smile!!

Take Control and Achieve Your Goals

Take Control and Achieve Your Goals

Since I have been on my diet, eating healthier and exercising, I have discovered quite a few things in achieving success.  Here are just a few I have discovered  or already knew but never put to use until recently..(mind you, several, if not all, of these have been around for years and some may be repeats):

You have got to truly, sincerely, absolutely want it.

Do it for yourself.

Put yourself in control.

Become assertive and determined in achieving you goal.

Believe in yourself.

Don’t listen to negative thoughts or people, they will only drag you down.

We all have our off days, but don’t fret if you fall off track…learn to pick yourself up and keep going!!

Stick to the old saying,
“If at first you don’t succeed…try, try, again”…and again, and again.

Re-train your mind…attitude…

“If you want to change your life…change your mind.”

Exercise/get active.

Any exercise is better than none.

Best time to exercise…in the morning.

Drink plenty of water.

Get enough rest and/or sleep.

Break the bad habits and replace them with good ones.

Each little step you take will put you closer to you goal as long as you persevere.

Give yourself time, things don’t/won’t change overnight.

Celebrate even the smallest accomplishment.

Take time for ‘Yourself’…’Me time’.

Don’t be afraid of asking for support/help.

Always look for motivation/inspiration.

Always eat a good breakfast.

Weigh only once a week.

It helps to document so you can look back to see where you might change things for better results.

There will always be obstacles…find a way around, under, through or over them.

‘Where there’s a will…there’s a way’.

Keep telling yourself, ‘I’m worth it’.

You got to look out for number one…You!!

You must not quit/give up.

Take a lesson from the snail:

“Like a snail - move toward destination no matter how long it takes.  You will get there if you will remain steady and patient.”   ~Author Unknown~

How I’m Losing Weight

I basically altered my thinking about food in general.

My favorite quote:

“If you want to change your life…change your mind”

                                                          ~Author Unknown~

You can (and I did) reprogram your mind like someone programs a computer.

To me, it’s a mind thing.
I take one day at a time.
I have the determination and drive to succeed.
I planted it in my mind to succeed.

I will succeed!!

I try not to get frustrated because the scales won’t move sometimes (plateau’s)…I just keep going.
I get wonderful support from my friends and family members.
I keep constantly busy.
I am more active.
I spend a lot more time outdoors.
I exercise….’Sweatin’ to the oldies, Tae-Bo, yard work, woodwork, walking, etc.

I will succeed!!

I eat only healthy foods most of the time.
I’ve learned the difference in being hungry and just wanting something.
I eat only when I’m positive that I’m hungry.
I can so “NO!!” to unhealthy, fattening, sugar filled desserts/sweets and greasy foods.
I know I have a choice…I choose to eat healthy.

I will succeed!!

I think positive.  I love me.  I’ll take care of me.
If I fall off the track, no big deal, it happens, so I just pick myself up and keep on going.
I set 10 lb weight loss goals instead of looking at the over all weight that I have to lose.

I picture myself slim and trim.

I picture how good I’ll look on my Harley (Another goal I’m aiming for, to own a Harley)

Smile!!

I read labels.
I keep track of calories eaten.
I make notes.

At last but not least…I’m doing this for ME !!!
Losing weight down to 135 by December 31 is my ultimate goal.

I WILL SUCCEED!!

I’m On A Weight Loss Mission

Hi!  Belinda here.  Just like millions of people in the US today, I’m on a weight loss mission.  I started eating differently (for the better) back in February and have lost 34.5 lbs to date.  I quit eating junk food (I mostly eat healthier foods now), I quit drinking soda’s (mainly DrPepper’s)…but do sometimes have a Coke Zero if I crave a soda.  I eat more fruits and veggies, I eat only fish or chicken, and limits on fats.

My beginning weight was 249 around the first of the year, but I really didn’t get into serious dieting until the middle of February.  I have a goal weight of 135 to reach by Dec 31, 2009.

I have the determination to succeed even though I have fallen off the track a few times along the way…I just pick myself back up and keep on going…

                                                                  I will succeed!!
